Dental Implants

Missing teeth can impede the functionality of your mouth and make it embarrassing to show off your smile.

Dental implants can prevent jawbone atrophy and support dental restorations to complete your smile and restore functionality.

Simply Dental in Los Algodones, Mexico, provides high-quality implants that can fit comfortably into your budget.

What Are Dental Implants?

A dental implant is a small screw that is placed in the jawbone to replace missing tooth roots. These screws are typically made of titanium or titanium alloys and are a durable, long-term treatment option for tooth replacement. Implants can support crowns, bridges, or dentures that restore your smile by filling in for your missing teeth above your gumline.

Exploring Candidacy for Dental Implants

Good Overall Health

Smiling couple

Your dental implant placement surgery will require two healing periods. To undergo this dental treatment, you should be in good overall health and ideally not use tobacco products, as they can impede your body's ability to heal. If you have conditions such as diabetes or an autoimmune disorder, it is important that you inform your dentist during your consultation.

Commitment

Dental patient

Having dental implants and restorations placed can be a lengthy process. If you want to undergo this treatment, you should prepare yourself for a few trips to our dentist in Los Algodones. While taking trips to Mexico may seem expensive and time-consuming, the price point and results we offer are worth it.

Good Oral Health

Brushing teeth

Before we get started with your treatment, you must have healthy teeth, healthy gums, and enough bone mass in your jawbone to support dental implants. Your candidacy for this dental work will be determined during a consultation at our Los Algodones dental clinic. We provide a wide range of treatment options to help you restore your oral health.

I had 5 crowns, one cavity filled, a teeth cleaning, and retainers made for my teeth performed. I was impressed with how efficient the staff worked. My first day of teeth work was on a Monday morning at 8 am. They had me on my way in time to cross the border, no hotel necessary. Two days later had the permanent crowns installed in short order. I am very happy with every aspect of my experience. I highly recommend Simply Dental. No complaints whatsoever. Fast, friendly, and relatively painless. Couldn't ask for a better experience!

This is my first time having work done with Simply Dental and I was super impressed! From the experience of scheduling to getting my retrainers (the last step) it was smooth! I was so impressed with the speed of getting 2 Crowns replaced and new retainers made! Incredible! Clean office, sterile processes and great care was taken every step of the way! A++++ I have given your name to several people who are looking for dental work to be done, including my daughter who will be coming in a few weeks! Thank you!

Before Your Dental Implant Procedure

Before you can receive this dental work at our Los Algodones, Mexico, dental clinic, you will first have to undergo a consultation with Dr. Danilo Gaspar, our implantologist. He will perform a thorough examination that involves X-rays, checking the health of your teeth and gums, and assessing the strength and condition of your jawbone in the areas where you're missing your natural teeth.

The results of this examination will determine your suitability for implants. You may be ready to receive this dental treatment as is, or you may have to undergo a preparatory procedure first. These procedures include:

Sinus Lift

A sinus lift can increase the amount of bone in the upper jaw so that your dental implants have the space and support they need.

Bone Graft

If you do not have enough jawbone density to support a dental implant, a bone graft may be necessary. During this procedure, our dentists can rebuild your jawbone using an artificial bone substitute or bone from another part of your body.

Tooth Extraction

Your dentist will always try to preserve your tooth, but if the tooth cannot be saved with a root canal or crown, it may have to be extracted. In some cases, we can extract the tooth and place a dental implant during the same appointment.

Tooth Decay and Gum Disease Treatment

Decay can spread throughout your mouth, so your teeth and gums have to be healthy before you can receive implants. Our Los Algodones practice can treat your tooth decay and gum disease to create a healthy foundation for implants.

If you're not a suitable candidate for dental implants, we can still help you get the care you need. Our dentists will provide you with options for an alternative treatment to restore the health and function of your smile. They will inform you of the cost of this treatment, the number of visits it will require, and the timeframe you can expect.

What Does the Dental Implant Timeline Involve?

Our office in Los Algodones, Mexico, can provide custom restorations like crowns, bridges, and dentures.
Our office in Los Algodones, Mexico, can provide custom restorations like crowns, bridges, and dentures.

Anesthesia

One of our dentists in Los Algodones will first administer local anesthesia to ensure your comfort for the duration of the procedure. Sedation is also available to help you relax.

Implant Placement

Your dentist will then make incisions at the site of the missing tooth and place the dental implant. You will then be fitted with a temporary restoration.

Osseointegration

You will then have to heal for a period of four to six months. During this period, your implants will fuse to your jawbone in a process called osseointegration. This process ensures your implant will be held firmly in place.

Abutment Placement

Your second surgical procedure will involve placing an abutment. This abutment will connect your restoration to your implant.

Healing Period

During a second brief healing period of only a few weeks, your gums will heal around your abutment.

Impressions and Restorations

Once your gums have healed, your implant will be able to support a restoration that fills the empty space in your smile. Your dentist will take impressions of your teeth and provide you with a restoration that is indistinguishable from your natural teeth. Our Los Algodones, Mexico, office can provide restorations like crowns, bridges, and dentures.

Following your surgery, you will be provided with aftercare instructions and prescriptions for medications, including antibiotics, anti-inflammatory drugs, painkillers, and mouthwash to help you avoid infection.

Be sure to attend regular dental checkups and follow an oral hygiene routine. With proper care, your restorations can last for many years, and your implants can last a lifetime.

Find Out More About Dentures

Take a Look at Implant-Supported Dentures

Implant-supported dentures are secured directly to the dental implants for maximum stability and bone-retaining benefits. They eliminate the risk of denture slippage and the need for messy denture adhesives. Implant-supported dentures look and function like natural teeth.

Your Options for Implant-Supported Dentures

All-on-6

The All-on-6 dental implant technique uses six implants that are placed in areas of the jaw with the highest bone density. Because the implants maximize bone potential, they can still provide stability for your denture without a preparatory graft, making them a good alternative to traditional implant-supported dentures, which require more bone density.

All-on-4

All-on-4 implant-supported dentures are designed to support an entire arch of teeth on just four implants. The way the implants are strategically angled in the jaw makes them a good option for patients who have suffered bone atrophy after tooth loss. They can eliminate the need for bone grafting or a sinus lift, saving you time and money.

Always a good experience at simply Dental. My wife and I have had a total of seven implants including bone grafts crowns Etc. Always interesting talking to people in the waiting room from different parts of the country and Canada. If there is a wait for crowns to be built and so on we will sometimes go visit Joshua tree and have even went to San Diego. All depends on our scheduling. Simply Dental will always give accurate information on lead times for any work that needs to be done including waiting for crowns. Have recommended them to family who have also had good experiences and always recommending to friends.

Dr. Gaspar and Dr. Maurice have been great! They explain what treatment needs to be done and I believe they really do care about your smile. I have received many implants and am currently in the healing stage before my final crowns are put on. My surgeries have went well and am healing nicely. Both Doctors go over your X-Rays and explain what they see and what can be improved.  I would also like to say that all the girls in the front office are nice and patient. They always respond to my calls and answer my questions. I have a couple months to go and can't wait to see the final results! :)
